Hi my HP smart tank printer 580 went offline. All of its button flash on and do not function when press. Power button cannot turn off/on and the mini screen just went blank. I tried to reset the printer (unplugged then replugged) so many times but it's still the same all of its light still flash on.

Hi @glendafe,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Smart Tank printer is experiencing issues and remains unresponsive despite multiple attempts to reset it, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:

Check Power Connection:

  • Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the printer and a working power outlet.
  • Try using a different power outlet to rule out any issues with the power source.

Remove Additional Connections:

  • Disconnect any USB cables or other connections from the printer.
  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the power cable from the printer.
  • Press and hold the power button on the printer for at least 15 seconds.
  • Plug the power cable back in and turn on the printer.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams. Clear any paper that might be causing a blockage.

Update Firmware:

  • Visit the official HP website and check for any firmware updates for your printer model. If available, download and install the latest firmware.

Factory Reset:

  • If none of the above steps work, you may need to perform a factory reset. Be aware that this will erase any custom settings on the printer.
    • Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
