Two possible scenarios here:
1 The separation pad is worn and allowing more than one page to be fed at a time. If the pad is dirty or very shiny or appears worn it should be replaced.
2 The paper you are using has residual glue on the edge which makes pages stick together. Rotate the paper in the tray to feed from the other edge.
