I'm using an HP deskjet printer in 3700 series. My printer can detect and print the first paper only after that it always lit it's paper button indicating it does not detect any paper, so I still have to click everytime I'm printing something. Does anyone have the same problem? How did you fix yours?

Hi @Rea0001 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet 3700 is having trouble detecting paper after printing the first sheet. This issue could be caused by several factors, including paper misalignment, a dirty paper sensor, or a software glitch.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check the Paper Tray:

  • Ensure that the paper is properly loaded in the paper tray. The paper should be aligned correctly, and the paper guides should be snug against the edges of the paper to prevent misfeeds.
  • Make sure the paper is not overfilled or unevenly stacked.

Clean the Paper Sensor:

  • Dust and debris can sometimes block the paper sensor. Try cleaning the sensor with a soft cloth or a can of compressed air. The paper sensor is usually located inside the printer, near the paper path.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Even small bits of paper can cause the printer to misbehave. Inspect the printer for any small paper scraps that may have been left behind.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds. Plug it back in and power it on again. This can sometimes clear minor software glitches.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause issues with detecting paper or other print functions.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Make sure the correct paper size is selected in the print settings and that the paper type matches the paper you are using.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
