Here are some steps to improve your printer's performance and resolve the slow printing, excessive noise, and multiple feed issues:
1. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.
2. Check Paper Settings
- Open Printers & Scanners in Windows.
- Select your printer and click Manage > Printing Preferences.
- Go to the Paper/Quality tab and ensure:
- Plain Paper is selected in the Paper Type field.
- Draft or Normal is selected in the Print Quality field.
- Click OK or Apply to confirm the changes.
3. Turn Off Quiet Mode
Quiet Mode reduces noise but can also slow down printing.
- Open the HP Smart app and select your printer.
- Click Advanced Settings > Preferences > Quiet Mode.
- Set it to Off and click Apply.
4. Check for Paper Jams
- Open the paper tray and inspect for any stuck or crumpled paper.
- Remove any debris and ensure the paper is properly aligned.
- Avoid overloading the tray with too many sheets.
5. Update Printer Firmware
Updating the firmware can resolve performance issues. Follow the steps in HP's official guide to update your printer firmware.
6. Clean the Rollers
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the paper tray and locate the rollers.
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to clean them.
- Let them dry completely before turning the printer back on.
7. Check for Driver Updates
- Visit HP’s support page and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Install the updated drivers and restart your computer.
Try these steps and let me know if the issue persists!
