HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A month or so ago, my HP Officejet Pro 9025 printhead got stuck hard to the right. I tried all "fixes" I could find on HP websites and general Google searches. After giving up and buying a cheap printer to get me through the days ahead, I decided to open up the printer and see if I could figure out how to make it work again before carting it off to recycle. I did finally manage to dislodge the print head by manually turning the drive cog and, with right side panel off, move the latching device which freed up the printhead to be moved manually. After re-assembling the printer, I tested it and it would again print. However, prior to every print, the printer does a lot of whirring and other mechanical noises before picking up the paper and printing. This noise activity sometimes lasts a minute before printing -- previously it would start almost immediately after receiving the job from the spooler. It's almost as if it is searching or aligning something prior to printing. Any ideas as to what I can do to identify and fix this problem?
