My Printer is an OfficeJet7740. [personal info removed]
It says "paper jam". there is no paper jammed anywhere in this printer. The ink carriage is locked and I have gathered that is why the printer is saying "jammed". No where on the internet is able to tell me how to get it unjammed unless I completely dismantle the printer into a million pieces. HP support will not help me because I have had the printer for two years and the warranty expired.

The cartridge carriage will lock on the right side when not in use. Is this where the carriage is locked? If so, carriage may not move if a jam error is sensed. Power off, pull out both paper trays. In the tray two area, make sure that the duplex feed are is inspected. Duplex pan sits above tray 2. Use a flash light to inspect paper feed path. With the trays out, inspect cassette feed path. Open rear door and do same inspection. Either there is a small piece of paper stuck or a broken sensor. It could also be a defective logic board. Sometimes you can hand feed a heavier paper into paper path to see if you can dislodge any debris. Take pictures to help you blow up area for a closer look. When inspection is complete, Power up printer without cassette trays installed. Good luck. I do not know of any repair options for this model.
