Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

Sirs/Mmes:  It keeps saying ‘out of paper’.  Then after clicking reloaded, it repeats ‘out of paper’.  Eventually it sometimes prints, or if I try to push the paper in a bit, sometimes it ‘catches’ and prints.  Seems like there is an issue with the device that ‘drops down’ on the right side, or the green line in the back, or the item to the right of the green line.  I tried to figure out how to open it up to possibly clean it – but can’t figure that out.  Any ideas?  Can you help me?  Thank you.  Roger

Hi @kciremeregor,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's possible that the printer is not detecting the paper correctly, or that there may be an issue with the paper feed mechanism. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check that the paper tray is properly inserted and that there is enough paper in the tray. Make sure that the paper is aligned correctly and not wrinkled or curled.
  • Clean the paper feed rollers. Dust, debris, or paper residue can accumulate on the rollers and cause feeding issues. To do this, unplug the printer, open the paper tray, and use a damp cloth to clean the rollers.
  • Reset the printer. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check the printer settings. Make sure that the printer is set to the correct paper size and type. If you're not sure what settings to use, refer to the printer manual or check the HP website for guidance.
  • Update the printer drivers. Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause printing problems. Visit the HP website to download the latest drivers for your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
