Scan feeder doesn't grab immediately

Scan feeder doesn't grab immediately, the result is that the document has a black "header" at the top and the bottom of the document is cut off

The rollers may be dirty with paper dust, try cleaning the rollers with a water dampened cloth and then allow them to dry and try again.

Thank you so much for your help. Don't see a way to access the rollers. Only access is to the cartridges
