Printer squeeks when printing. It is not the rollers. It is actually the cartridge carriage that moves back and forth. How do I fix it so that it stops squeeking... is there a special lube that can be use?

Hi @BosieRose,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your Printer.
Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain on the printer.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
If the issue still persists, kindly refer to the steps on this link to clean the carriage area and let me know if that fixes the issue.

Hi Irwin, I did hat you suggested in your response. I also found the link you included that had instructions for paper jams etc… performed those as well and tried to update my firmware, but received a message that my firmware was the latest version. The problem still persists. The printer is about a year old so I find this problem disappointing. It appears to me that the bar on which the cartridge case travels needs to be lubricated. There is no block. What kind of lubrication do you recommend.
