Hi @Groden,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for letting me know—paper jams can be frustrating! Let’s go through a step-by-step guide to help you clear the jam and prevent it from happening again.
Step 1: Turn Off and Unplug the Printer
- Power off the printer and unplug it from the wall.
- This prevents any moving parts from causing injury or further damage.
Step 2: Remove All Paper Trays
- Gently pull out the input and output trays.
- Check for any jammed or crumpled paper inside.
Step 3: Open All Access Doors
- Open the main access door (where you change ink cartridges).
- Also, open the rear access door or duplexer (if your model has one).
- Look for any torn pieces of paper or debris.
🔍 Use a flashlight if needed to check deep inside.
Step 4: Gently Remove Jammed Paper
- Pull paper slowly and evenly in the direction of the paper path.
- Avoid tearing it—leftover scraps can cause future jams.
Step 5: Check the Rollers
- Look for dusty or worn rollers—they can cause feeding issues.
- Clean them with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water.
- Let them dry completely before closing the printer.
Step 6: Reload Paper Properly
- Fan the paper stack to prevent sticking.
- Don’t overfill the tray—check the paper guides are snug but not tight.
Step 7: Plug In and Test
- Plug the printer back in and power it on.
- Try printing a test page.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
