Hi @Jocelyn18,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY 5012 All-In-One Printer is only printing 3/4 of the way and then gets stuck without completing the print job, it could be due to various reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve this issue.
- Check for Paper Jams: Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Even a small piece of paper stuck inside the printer can cause printing problems.
- Use the Right Paper: Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of paper as specified in the printer's manual. Using the wrong paper can lead to printing issues.
- Printer Driver Update: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can cause printing problems. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website.
- Check Print Queue: Sometimes, a print job can get stuck in the print queue, causing subsequent jobs not to print correctly. Go to your computer's print queue and cancel any pending or stuck print jobs. Then try printing again.
- Clear Printer Memory: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for a few minutes. This can help clear any temporary glitches in the printer's memory.
- Reset the Printer: Some printers have a reset option in the settings menu. You can try resetting the printer to its default settings to see if that resolves the issue.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes fix printing problems.
- Print a Test Page: Use the printer's control panel to print a test page directly from the printer. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your computer or the printer itself.
- Inspect Cartridges: Ensure that the ink or toner cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink or toner. Low or empty cartridges can lead to incomplete prints.
- Print Quality Settings: Adjust the print quality settings in the printer driver. Sometimes, setting the quality too high can cause printing problems. Try lowering the print quality and see if that helps.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
