Welcome to the HP Community --

A3 printing is about your printer model and the full driver printer software for that printer.

What?

A3 -- assuming the size is supported on your mystery printer -- is a specialty size.

The basic Microsoft IPP / Class drivers might usually print A3 but will not provide access to all the printer's features for this size.  For example, plain Windows drivers might not include the A3 in the size list and / or might not print A3 in color.

Full A3 printing support depends on the printer model and having installed the Full Feature Software.

Next, the full HP driver must be selected in Printer Properties > Tab Advanced > Driver:

9025_Printer_Properties_Advanced_Driver_List_119025_Printer_Properties_Advanced_Driver_List_11
