I have tried everything in the HP support guide for fixing paper jams. Every time I try to print, it pulls the paper but then the paper gets jammed inside. It comes free easily. I wonder if the problem is the white ribbon to the left? I don't know what it should look like or if there is a way to fix it. TIA!

Hi @abbya42,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy Inspire 7900e keeps jamming paper despite trying various troubleshooting steps, here are some additional suggestions to consider:
1. Check Paper Type and Size
- Ensure you are using the correct type and size of paper recommended for your printer. Make sure the paper is not too thick or too thin.
2. Inspect the Paper Tray
- Paper Alignment: Make sure the paper is properly aligned in the tray and that the paper guides are snug against the paper without being too tight.
- Overloading: Ensure you’re not overloading the paper tray. Remove any excess paper.
3. Examine the Feed Rollers
- Check the feed rollers for any dust or debris that might prevent them from gripping the paper properly:
- Clean the rollers gently with a lint-free cloth dampened with water.
4. Inspect for Obstructions
- Look for any foreign objects or bits of paper stuck inside the printer. Sometimes even small bits can cause jams.
5. Check the Ribbon Cable
- The white ribbon cable you mentioned could be related to the printer's mechanics. If it appears damaged or misaligned, it may cause feeding issues.
- If you’re comfortable, check to see if it’s seated correctly. However, be cautious when handling internal components.
6. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
7. Use Different Paper
- Sometimes switching to a different brand or type of paper can resolve feeding issues.
8. Firmware Update
- Check for any firmware updates for your printer that might resolve bugs affecting paper feeding.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
