Hi @JohnO44,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing a false paper jam error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer can be frustrating. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.

2. Check for Paper Fragments

  • Open the printer's access doors and carefully inspect the paper path for any small pieces of paper or debris that might be causing the error.
  • Use a flashlight to look into areas that are harder to see.

3. Check the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Open the paper tray and inspect the rollers. Clean them gently with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Ensure that the rollers can move freely and are not stuck or obstructed.

4. Reset the Printer

  • With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

5. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Check HP's website for any available firmware updates for your model.

6. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Remove all paper from the paper tray.
  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Reload the paper tray and check if the error is resolved.

7. Check Printer Settings

  • Sometimes, incorrect settings can cause false paper jam errors. Check your printer settings and ensure they are correctly configured.

8. Inspect for Mechanical Issues

  • Check for any broken or misaligned parts inside the printer that could be causing the error.

9. Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This can automatically diagnose and resolve many common printer issues.

Refer to this document: HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
