HP Officejet Pro 8630 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Error pops up that scanner automatic document feeder is jammed.  There is not a paper jam.  Have followed all HP recommendations as well as numerous on like recommendations.  I have partially disassembled to make sure no hidden paper clogs.  Have cleaned rollers.  Error message prevents access to other menus.

Resolved that this may be a sensor and as this is a 9+ year old printer repair not appropriate.  Yet, I have a number of spare cartridges and would like to use up.  I Don't need the scanner document feeder!, Rest printer was working fine and would like to extend life until cartridges are used up.

Found in the HP software has a checkbox for ADF installed or not.  Checked that it was not with the hope it would then ignore "jam" message.  No change.  Is there anything else I can do to make the printer ignore this error and just let me print without ADF

Thank you for your response.  Yup, glad you agreed it is an issue with ADF.  But your response did not address my question which was.

"Is there anything else I can do to make the printer ignore this error and just let me print without ADF"

From the computer everything else on the printer Works! except the ADF.  The ADF throws a error screen on the printer display making it impossible to access any menu items directly from the printer.

ALL I want to do is tell the printer to ignore the ADF error and remove error message from the printer menu screen.

I can then easily use the flatbed scanner for copy and scan as well as print.  The ADF function is literally 1% of the function of the machine.  Surely there is a way.

Continuing note on this ADF error message.  I notice in the software there is an option to turn on or off the Automatic duplex which can be installed in the back.  That's Exactly what I was hoping to find for the ADF.  A simple use or not use.  If not a button, some kind of work around to do the same thing.
