Product: OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 880-010

i have a paper jam with my HP officejet 5740 and I cannot even get to the paper to clear the jam. I can barely open see the edge of the paper open the printer, but I can't get the whole tray whole tray out to get to the paper.  unplugging the printer doesn't help; turning it off doesn't help, but oddly enough on occasion it will print the last page of what I trying to print and then stop with 'out of paper message'. The paper is loaded, when I press the OK button,it just repeats it.
