I understand your HP ENVY 6055e printer had a paper jam, and after removing the black cover, you pulled out the white roller but are now unable to reinstall it. Let’s go through a few steps to help you get it back in place.

a. Power Off and Unplug
Unplug the printer from the wall and remove any paper from the tray.
This prevents accidental movement of internal parts while reinstalling the roller.

b. Locate the Roller Mount Points
The white roller sits just beneath the black cover and has two small pins or shafts on either end.
Look for matching slots or grooves inside the printer where these ends fit—one side may have a spring mechanism or a clip.
Ensure these slots are clean and free from leftover paper bits.

c. Align the Roller Correctly
Check if one end of the roller has a flat edge or gear—this side must face the same direction as before (usually toward the right).
Start by inserting one end of the roller into the fixed slot.
Then, gently compress the opposite spring-loaded end inward and guide it into the other slot.
When aligned correctly, the roller should click lightly into place and spin freely without wobbling.

d. Reinstall the Black Cover
Once the roller is seated, align the black cover’s tabs with the notches on the printer frame.
Press it evenly from both sides until it snaps securely into place.

e. Verify Smooth Rotation
Before turning the printer back on, rotate the roller gently with your finger, it should move smoothly and stay in place.
If it pops out or feels stuck, remove and reseat it carefully until both ends fit evenly into the side channels.

I hope this helps.
