my 8715 printer starts to print in the middle of the page when i use card stock, when i use regular paper it works fine.

Welcome to the HP Community.

One place to check:  Alert the printer to your paper size and paper type.

Open the Tray where the paper is loaded.

Wait a couple of seconds.

Close the Tray.

Immediately look for a message on the printer control panel to accept / modify / edit the paper size - paper type.

         Change the paper type to Card or Brochure - not plain paper.

         Do not select Photo Paper...

Next,

Make sure your Printing Preferences are set to use the correct paper size / paper type for your current job.

Hint:  Do not select plain paper when using card paper.

• Printing Preferences are available directly from the driver.

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Right-Click on your printer > Printing Preferences

• When called from within printing software / applications, Printing Preferences might be called "Printer Properties" / "Shortcuts" / “More Settings” / “Properties” or similar.

• No Size?  If the size of the Paper Size is not included in the Drop-down list, consider / try:  Create a Custom Paper Size Form.  Reference:  HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes

NOTE >> Preferences and Envelopes: 

Select / leave Printing Preferences Shortcut to "Everyday Printing" or something equally benign.
