Product: HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer

the printer works and powers on and everything but when i get on the hp smart app it tells me the printer tray is open or empty. but i can see that its closed. there is a yellow light lit up on the edge of the printer. what can i do to resolve this. this is a hp envy pro 6455 printer.
