Hi @GOPWD,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is displaying a paper jam error message even though there is no paper jam, it could be due to various reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue.

  • Restart the printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.
  • Check for small debris: Even a tiny piece of torn paper or debris can trigger a false paper jam error. Carefully inspect the paper feed path, input tray, output tray, and automatic document feeder (ADF) for any obstructions. Use a flashlight if needed.
  • Reset the printer: Perform a partial reset on the printer to restore it to its default settings. To do this, turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for about 60 seconds. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
  • Update or reinstall printer drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can sometimes cause false error messages. Ensure you have the latest drivers installed. You can download the drivers from the official HP website and reinstall them.
  • Check paper type and size settings: Make sure that the paper loaded in the input tray matches the settings on the printer control panel and your computer. Mismatched settings may lead to detection issues.
  • Perform a firmware update: Keeping your printer firmware up to date can fix known bugs and improve performance. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your OfficeJet Pro 9015.
  • Clean the rollers: Paper feed rollers can accumulate dust and debris over time, leading to paper detection issues. Clean the rollers following the instructions provided in the printer's manual or HP's support documentation.
  • Verify the ADF sensors: The automatic document feeder (ADF) uses sensors to detect paper jams. Inspect the ADF area for any stuck sensors or sensors that might be out of place. If you're comfortable doing so, you can gently reseat any sensors that appear misaligned.

If after following these steps, the false paper jam error still persists, there may be a hardware issue with the printer's paper detection system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
