Hi @mindoc,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since you've already cleaned the rollers and performed a power reset, here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the "out of paper" error on your HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer.

Check Paper Sensor:

  • The printer uses a paper sensor to detect if paper is present. Sometimes the sensor can get dirty or misaligned, causing incorrect readings. Inspect the paper path for any debris or paper bits that could be blocking the sensor. You may need to clean the sensor gently with a lint-free cloth.

Re-align Paper in Tray:

  • Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray. The paper should be aligned against the guides, not overfilled or shifted, as this can sometimes trick the printer into thinking the paper is jammed or missing.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Even though you’ve cleaned the rollers, make sure there are no small pieces of paper jammed in the printer’s paper path, especially around the rollers, input, or output trays.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Outdated firmware can cause false error messages. Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your ENVY 7645. Install any updates and see if the issue persists.

Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults:

  • If none of the above works, try performing a full reset of the printer settings:
    • Go to the Printer's control panel.
    • Navigate to Settings > Restore Defaults or Reset (the exact wording might vary).
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the printer, and then set it up again.

Check for Software or Driver Issues:

  • Ensure that your printer drivers are up-to-date. Reinstalling the printer drivers can also help resolve any communication issues between the printer and your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
