HP PSC 1210v All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows XP

HP 1210 psc         Paper does not feed.  The printer whirs like it's trying, but does not pick up the paper.  I caused this problem.  I forgot that I had laid my iPhone SE on top of the paper stack.  The feed was working then. The phone was carried along on the top sheet until it (the phone) hit something on the right side of the space in the front of the printer.  The phone didn't seem to hit the object very hard, but the paper never got picked up after that.

I have done everything in the video to correct the problem (actually I had already tried most of those things), but nothing worked.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that your printer is not picking up the paper, and I am glad to assist you.

Perform a power reset , Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates

SandyTech:  Tnx for your response and effort to help me.  I had already tried all those things (including the doctor) but tried them again.  Nothing worked to get the paper to feed.

Should I take the top off the printer and poke around inside, concentrating on the area where the printer tries to get the paper feed to work (it makes a whirring noise)?

Or is there a list of businesses in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis area) which could fix the problem.

Thanks,

Orcy1
