Hi @jravi67,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Paper feeding problems in HP printers can be caused by several issues. Here are some common troubleshooting steps to help resolve the problem.

Check Paper Quality and Type:

  • Ensure you're using the correct type and size of paper for your printer. Refer to your printer's manual for recommended paper types.
  • Use clean, undamaged paper. Avoid using paper that is wrinkled, damp, or has curled edges.

Check Paper Tray:

  • Make sure the paper is properly aligned in the paper tray and that the paper guides are adjusted to fit the paper size. The guides should be snug but not too tight.

Clean Paper Feed Rollers:

  • Dust or debris on the rollers can cause paper feeding issues. Gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth moistened with water. Make sure the rollers are completely dry before using the printer.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Inspect the printer for any paper jams or obstructions. Remove any jammed paper carefully, following the printer’s manual instructions to avoid damaging the printer.

Check the Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the paper size and type settings in the printer software match the paper loaded in the tray.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve paper feeding issues. Check the HP website for any available updates for your printer model.

Reset the Printer:

  • Try resetting your printer to its factory settings. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

Inspect and Replace Rollers (if necessary):

  • If the rollers are worn out or damaged, they may need to be replaced.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
