HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer

hp All in one 8720 printer.  I had a paper jam and the ink cartridge was stuck.  I took out the paper and now it is saying I had an improper shut down.  I have gone on hP doctor and did all the diagnostic steps that they said and still it say paper jam and improper shutdown.  Any suggestions?

I had just purchased a new set of toners for $206.  I's so sad!

Hi @marilynp1780,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Let's try the reset.

Sometimes a paper jam error persists even though there is no jammed paper (false paper jam).

Reset the printer, which might clear a false paper jam error, and then try to print again.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the power source.

Wait 60 seconds.

Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

If possible update the firmware by selecting the current OS.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
