At this writing, the printer is sold by HP  - it is currently on sale for a discount close to half of you say you paid.

Reference HP Store - USA - HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e All-in-One Printer

Even full price the printer is a hair under $400.

If you just purchased the printer, and the store from whom you purchased the product has a decent return policy,

pack up the printer and return it.

Yes, in my opinion this model is a nice printer -

I have the OfficeJet Pro 9025 (no "e") model - purchased in 2019.

It's feature packed, fairly tough, and prints on a variety of media (as supported).

The printer includes automatic 2-sided scan -- a most excellent feature.

In my experience

This printer is fussy about being kept very clean and tidy.

Jams happen for a multitude of reasons - some of which might be explained in ten words or less.

For example,

Amongst other reasons,

Paper Jams might be the result of one or more of the following:

  • Dirt
  • Age - wear and tear
  • Dirt (yes, repeated) - rollers, print cartridges, crevices
  • Bad paper placement - wrong tray, wrong way
  • Bad paper settings
  • Bad paper - unsupported
  • Incomplete / inaccurate job configuration
  • Incomplete cartridge alignment
  • Old ink cartridges that -- for whatever reason -- won't align, won't print, won't "work"

Way down on the bottom of the list:

  • Broken hardware - yes, can happen.

Additional checkpoints to consider...

=======================================

Paper Size & Type - Tray and Paper

Paper Size, Type, and Weight in the printer tray must be supported.

Paper Size, Type, and Weight must be appropriate for the tray in which that paper is to be used.

What?  Tray 2 is used for Custom media is this printer - Tray 1 is Plain paper only.
