Hi @heather5454,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP DeskJet 4152e All-In-One Printer is not loading paper, there are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to identify and resolve the issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you:
1. Check the Paper Quality and Quantity
- Ensure the paper is of the correct type and size: The HP DeskJet 4152e typically works with standard sizes like A4, Letter, etc. Make sure the paper is not too thick or thin.
- Check the paper condition: Paper should be flat, not curled or wrinkled. Remove any torn or damaged paper.
- Avoid overloading: Do not exceed the paper capacity of the input tray. Typically, the printer can hold about 60-80 sheets of standard paper.
2. Properly Load the Paper
- Fan the paper stack: This helps to prevent multiple sheets from sticking together.
- Adjust the paper width guides: Make sure the paper guides are snug against the edges of the paper without bending it.
- Load paper correctly: Insert the paper into the input tray until it stops. Ensure the paper is aligned and not skewed.
3. Check for Paper Jams
- Open the printer: Check inside the printer and the input and output trays for any paper jams or obstructions.
- Remove any jammed paper: Carefully pull out any stuck paper from the printer. Be gentle to avoid tearing it.
4. Clean the Paper Rollers
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Access the paper rollers: Depending on the printer model, you might need to open the rear access door or the front of the printer.
- Clean the rollers: Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the paper feed rollers. Rotate the rollers manually to ensure all sides are cleaned.
- Let the rollers dry completely: Before reassembling the printer.
5. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
- Turn on the printer and try loading paper again.
6. Update Printer Firmware
- Check for firmware updates: Visit the HP support website to see if there are any firmware updates for your printer model.
- Update the firmware: Follow the instructions on the HP website to update your printer's firmware.
7. Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and install: Get the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the HP support website.
- Run the utility: Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix common printer issues, including paper feed problems.
Refer to this document: HP DeskJet 4152e All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
