I am trying to print greeting cards and the image I am printing comes out in a different location than I have designed.  I have printed from photoshop directly and from a jpeg.  I cannot predict when the print will be correct.  It happens most with the heavier paper weight but this printer is supposed to print on paper up to 110 lbs and I am using 100 or 80 lb.  even the regular paper is off sometimes but not as much.  I bought this printer specifically because it was able to print on heavier paper.  the image moves from side to side and not up and down which seems to suggest it is skipping or jumping as its being fed into the printer.   I have been on the phone with support 2 times.

any help or work-arounds?

thank you

mari

@marirenwick, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Does the preview look good?

Have you set margins so the image is printed within the margins?

Check the settings before you send the print job. Refer to the document HP Printers - Print Settings Guide (Mac) for help.

ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:

Update printer firmware

Update software on Mac

Also, refer to the document HP Printers - How to Print Photos (Mac)  to learn more about printing photos.

Try printing.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

I have been on several lengthy support calls and the conclusion is that this printer actually does NOT print well on 100 lb paper stock.  I am in the process of trying to print with 80 lb.  If this doesn't work is it possible to get a recommendation for a printer to print on 100 lb paper that also copies and scans and can enlarge and reduce incrementally?
