@JB554, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reinstall the loose plastic piece (likely part of the duplexer or paper path guide) in your HP Envy 6000e series printer after clearing a paper jam, follow these general steps,
Power Off and Unplug the Printer
Always start by turning off the printer and unplugging it to avoid any electrical issues or accidental movement.
Identify the Loose Plastic Piece
The piece you're referring to is likely part of the automatic duplexer or rear paper path guide. It usually has small clips or tabs that align with slots inside the rear access area.
Access the Rear Panel or Duplexer
- Open the rear access door or duplexer flap.
- If the piece came from the bottom rear, it may be part of the cleanout door or paper path cover.
Align the Tabs or Clips
- Look for small grooves or slots where the plastic piece originally fit.
- Gently align the tabs of the plastic piece with these slots.
- It should click or snap into place without force.
Test the Fit
- Once reinstalled, gently tug to ensure it’s secure.
- Close all access doors and plug the printer back in.
Run a Duplex Print Test
- Try printing a two-sided document to confirm the piece is correctly installed and the paper feeds properly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
