Hi @Hans1935,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's frustrating when the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) on your HP Officejet Pro 8625 isn't working correctly. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the issue.

  • Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no paper jams or foreign objects obstructing the ADF path. Even small pieces of paper or debris can cause feeding problems.
  • Paper Quality: Make sure you are using the correct type and size of paper recommended for your printer. Low-quality or damaged paper may not feed properly.
  • Adjust Paper Guides: Ensure that the paper guides in the ADF tray are correctly adjusted to the size of the paper you're using. They should snugly hold the paper without being too tight.
  • Clean the ADF Rollers: You mentioned that you've already cleaned the pick rollers, which is a good step. Make sure you've thoroughly cleaned them, and double-check that there's no residual dirt or debris. You can use a lint-free cloth and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the rollers.
  • Replace Rollers: If cleaning doesn't work, the rollers may be worn out and need to be replaced. Consult your printer's manual or HP's website for information on how to obtain replacement rollers.
  • Update Firmware/Drivers: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware and drivers installed. Sometimes, an outdated firmware can cause issues with the ADF.
  • Reset the Printer: You mentioned that you've reset the printer. If you haven't already, try performing a more thorough reset by turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Check for Software Issues: Sometimes, software settings can cause ADF problems. Check your printer settings on your computer to make sure they are configured correctly for ADF use.
  • Test with Different Documents: Sometimes, the type or condition of the documents being scanned can affect ADF performance. Try scanning different types of documents to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
