Hi @Raymond_Gene717,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your printer. There could be several reasons why your HP printer isn't printing when prompted. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

  • Check Connections: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wired connection, make sure the cables are securely plugged in. If it's a wireless connection, ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • Printer Status: Check if there are any error messages or warning lights on the printer's control panel. This can give you clues about what might be wrong.
  • Printer Queue: Check the print queue on your computer to see if there are any pending print jobs. Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the queue and prevent new jobs from printing. You can cancel any stuck print jobs and try printing again.
  • Restart Devices: Try restarting both your printer and your computer. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues or software glitches.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can usually download them from the HP website or use HP's printer management software to check for updates.
  • Check Ink or Toner Levels: If your printer is low on ink or toner, it may not be able to print. Check the ink or toner levels and replace any cartridges if necessary.
  • Paper Jam: Check for any paper jams in the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck in the printer can cause issues.
  • Printer Settings: Make sure your printer is set as the default printer on your computer and that it's not set to offline mode.
  • Firewall or Antivirus Software: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block communication between your computer and printer. Try temporarily disabling these software and see if it resolves the issue.
  • Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can try performing a factory reset on your printer. Keep in mind that this will erase any custom settings you've configured on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
