Hi @bhasin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Ink Tank Printer 310 series is displaying an E4 error message indicating a paper tray jam, you can follow these steps to clear the jam.
- Turn Off the Printer: First, turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source to ensure your safety while clearing the jam.
- Open the Paper Tray: Open the paper tray cover and carefully remove any paper that you can see. Ensure you remove all loose or jammed sheets of paper.
- Check for Obstructions: Look inside the paper tray area and the printer's input path for any foreign objects or debris that might be causing the jam. Even small pieces of paper can cause issues.
- Check the Rollers: Inspect the paper feed rollers for any dirt or debris. If you see any, use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to clean the rollers. Make sure they are dry before turning the printer back on.
- Reload Paper: After you have cleared the jam and ensured there are no obstructions or debris, reload the paper properly into the paper tray. Make sure the paper is aligned and not overloaded.
- Close the Tray Cover: Gently close the paper tray cover until it clicks into place securely.
- Power On the Printer: Plug the printer back into the power source and turn it on.
- Test Print: After the printer has finished initializing, try printing a test page to ensure that the issue is resolved.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
