HP Recommended

Hi, please can somebody help me. I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. I had a print head error come up. After removing it and rubbing all the contacts, I bit the bullet and ordered a brand new print head from Amazon. I just put it in and the thing is telling me not to use set up inks it came with. The other thing is, the springs are really stiff, unlike my old one. The inks do not go in easily but I do have them correctly seated/ inserted. I tried my old inks since it didn't like the new cartridges but the colours are not coming through and the black is only half coming through. Why on earth do HP make this so complicated and why have inks that are set up inks and those which are not? I tried disconnecting from mains for 60 seconds, tried HP automated support (had to add all their detection software, updated my drivers on the computer, reboot my pc etc etc ) and it is just escalating into me doing unnecessary things like that on the computer that take so long and are not addressing the actual issue.  I need to print something urgently and this should be a simple fix but it isn't.
