I have an hp printer model 2540 and the end of the printer cord is the same as the end of my a kindle fire cord. Basically 2 make connectors. I need something so that I can connect them together so I can print of my tablet. Wi-Fi connection is not an option at this time

It will not work, the tablet will not recognize the printer if you will be able to get that kind of cable.

Hi,

You may try using a USB OTG cable and check if that may work, as I can see Amazon Kindle Fire tables should support a such, but the cable should be compatible with your Amazon Fire device:

Another alternative would be to use Wireless Direct for printing, this too can be tested although WiFi Direct is officially supported only (a later standard), but for my experience it may work with a Wireless Direct printer as well:
