HP Officejet 4652
Microsoft Windows 11
I have had ongoing problems since update of HP Officejet 4650 series printer (HP Officejet 4652). It is wireless connected and has auto updates installed. I can no longer print in color from a document (now have to send it to my email and the printer address). My printer was originally loaded with the auto duplex installed but now that driver (i guess) is gone and doesn't work unless I send to my email and the printer address. I have been looking for solutions but even the support line doesn't help. I am running the Windows 11 but don't think this is the problem since it started before it was installed. I have removed and reinstalled the printer but it still has this problem. How do I get auto duplex and color back without sending to email to print.

Hi,

Try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.

The link isn't working. I have tried multiple times and nothing comes up. Sorry I am a novice. Please give me more information to find it.

Alternative to check: On your PC go to control panel>devices and printers and right click on the icon for your printer. Select "printer properties" from the drop down menu  and then click on Device settings, scroll down and find the option for duplex and make sure it shows as installed, if not change to installed.

I have the same problem. The issue is that there is no "Device Setting" tab in Printer Properties. I wonder if this is caused by the default driver "Microsoft IPP Class Driver". This driver is automatically installed/selected by HP Smart.
