Been given a HP DeskJet 3760 and I can't connect it to my PC an Easynote running Windows 2007 simple help please

I have a 3720 and have moved it from office to  home, where I am having endless problems trying to connect it to the home system.  HP Support are useless, so if you get any clues please post and let us all know.  Personally I think it is a strategy by HP to get us all to ditch 'obsolete' kit and buy endless rounds of new printers in our absurd  throw away society....
