I am not able to use my printer as I get continuous orange light(at the cartridge icon) and blue light(on paper icon). Can anyone help?

I cannot use my printer for a few weeks already because when I plug it, it's automatically turned on.

  • nothing is appearing in CONTROL PANEL DISPLAY (small screen)
  • PRINTHEAD ALERT LIGHT (light under the small screen) is red
  • RESUME BUTTON LIGHT  (paper with arrow icon) is in blue
  • POWER BUTTON/LIGHT is not on

It is not blinking, it's just on and doesn't turn off even if I hold the power button.

Hi @Maemae77,

I'd like to help!

Try the below suggestions-

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

This condition occurs when there is no paper in the input tray. Load the printer with plain paper to resolve the issue.

  1. Raise the input tray.

Image: Pull up the input tray

  2. Slide the paper width guide all the way to the left.

  3. Load plain paper into the input tray, and then slide the stack of paper down until it stops.

       CAUTION:

Do not load paper while the printer is printing. Jams or paper feed issues might occur.

  4. Slide the paper width guide to the right until it stops at the edge of the paper.

  5. Pull out the output tray, and then raise the tray extender.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Refer to -Blinking Lights and 'E' Errors

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
