HP ENVY Inspire 7955e just out of the box. Is it possiible to get the drivers and software from a site other than the HP support site, which reported that itiis not available at this time? Are images only supported using a link?

2-1/2 hours and 4 chat sessions later.The first 3 disconnected with no indication of why. It's hard to believe that a company of HP's size and stature could let that ind of behavior happen.The fourth remote-ed in to my computer and showed me how to scan to a pdf. He said there are written instructions and gave me a link. I will take a look at that.

 

It boggles my mind that 2-1/2 hours of effort are required to get software that many users of this printer will probably be wanting to use.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, To get the answer to this question, we do have a software driver for this printer model.
You can download HP Smart from  play store or from here: HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software

i was on HP Support Chat between  9pm and 4am last night. 4 chat sessions. 2 of them the agent disconnected with no reason. 2 of them the agent remoted-in to my computer. The issue seemd to me a simple one: the printer would not Power ON. The final one concluded with two options: return the printer to HP and get a refurbished one to replace it. No money back, just give us your new one and well give you a used one.

I returned the printer to BestBuy, they gave me a full refund. The 7955e has features that I want and it's available today. I picked it up about an hour ago.

There was also a much more pleasant and productive experience a couple days ago, shortly after I posted here about not being able to download the scan-to-pdf program and other software. That agent

remoted-in, got the scan-to-pdf working, and got other stuff installed.

I anticipate having the same issues with software as before. With luck I can get that done before 4am.

I just went back to my  original post of 1/16., which discusses the successful remote-in session. I had forgotten that that also took 4 chat sessions. Apparently HP has designed their chat to make customers wait in the queue. That save them $.  Why not just say, "Hi customer. You may have to wait an hour to speak to an agent. Leave your name blah-blah-blah and we will initiate contact with you.
