Hi @65CAROL,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Bypassing the setup cartridge display on an HP Envy 5055 printer is not recommended because it may lead to issues with the printer's functionality. The setup cartridge display is usually part of the printer's initial setup process and is meant to ensure that the printer is correctly configured and calibrated. Skipping this step could result in problems with print quality, alignment, and overall performance.

However, if you're facing issues with your setup cartridges or need to troubleshoot the setup process, you can follow these steps:

Ensure the Setup Cartridges Are Installed Correctly:

  • Make sure the setup cartridges are correctly inserted into the printer. Check that they are securely in place and that the protective tape and orange plastic tabs have been removed.

Follow On-screen Instructions:

  • If the printer is displaying a setup cartridge message, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process. This typically involves confirming your language and region settings, as well as aligning the cartridges.

Reset the Printer:

  • If you encounter an error during the setup process, try resetting the printer. To do this, turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer back on and see if the setup process resumes.

Skipping the setup cartridge display is not recommended because it can lead to ongoing problems with your printer's performance. It's best to complete the setup process as instructed to ensure that your printer functions correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
