Officejet Pro 8610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm very frustrated. I need to do a regionalization reset on my Officejet Pro 8610. I can see on YouTube that it isn't that difficult, but an HP customer service person has to provide me an individualized code to enter. I can't get through to customer service because I need a case number. It seems I can't get a case number without being under warranty or extended warranty. I can't buy an extended warranty because it hasn't been under warranty for more than a year. Is there a way I can get a case number without being under warranty? Otherwise, I'll have to just throw my perfectly functioning printer and all the ink in the trash because they won't deal with me.

Hi,

Follow below steps to dispute the warranty:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05084516

Be sure to select "Issue with my accessories, Supplies and/or Software" option, clearly describe that you've moved with the printer from another country and that you use Genuine HP ink cartridges, include their warranty end date as you are entitled for support on such per the cartridges warranty.

Sorry, I can't see that option on the page you directed me to. Nevertheless, I am quite certain I have been down this path before (months ago, when I last tried to resolve this problem.) I have left detailed messages numerous times explaining that I use HP ink and need a regionalization reset, but I have never had a response back.

@jorapp, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I can help you 🙂

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Keep me posted.

I have purchased and connected the USB cable and I have downloaded the software. Attached is the screenshot you asked for. I believe I just need the codes now to finish up. Thanks so much for your help!HP printer screenshot.jpg
