HP OfficeJet Pro 8133 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Problem with HP Smart Print Administrator Resource Kit installation on Windows 7 x64. Ethernet connection.

The driver HPSPARKTools-4.08.1.500.zip won't be installed clicking on the install.exe, and will be stuck on "Searching for ports (Exits?)".

Tried manually adding through Devices & Printers. I can see HP 8130 being found and recognized with IP, but when I choose the "Universal printer drive" to start installation, Windows say it's non-sign.

* I already disable: Firewalls/Anti virus/sign driver in two places (CMD) and even tried Safe Mode and Test mod,

Nothing help, this driver won't be installed --Still no printer, not even at the Device Manager (also tried 'Add printer', and got error x000002 …something).

* 15 years with 3 HP printers on this system, never had an issue, except now with 1833 model.

* Other computers on the same network, Win-10, 11 had no problem, installations took 10 seconds.

Please help, any Idea will be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

In the download page I can choose operating system, and Windows 7 64 is one of them.

  • Download the HP Universal Fax Driver and it works.
  • Download the HP Smart Print Administrator Resource Kit ... And it failed.

OK — Correction:

The full driver printer software is not supported in Windows 7.

True - the Universal Fax and Universal Print drivers are listed for Windows 7.

Sorry for the confusion — I’ve no direct experience with Windows 7 and the HP Smart Print Administrator Resource Kit.

I cannot answer the question about why the web pack won’t install in Windows 7.

I will post back if I run across anything useful in my notes.

Thank you for your honest answer.

Ok. Hopefully in some point we could see some new driver update after 4.08.1.500.

Will check again for anything useful, as you mention.

Appreciate your effort.  👍
