HP OFFICE JEY 8010e series I turned it off accidentally it won’t let me move on —says I haven’t finished setting up printer (needs alignment step) all I can do is cancel and it cancels endlessly so I have to shut down. Can’t get beyond this step. Over and over
Printed fine after first setup

Hi @Vauner,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to be stuck in a setup loop with your HP OfficeJet 8010e series printer. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue.
- Restart the Printer: Turn off your printer completely, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. This may sometimes clear up temporary glitches.
- Check Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network, depending on how you're setting it up. A stable connection is crucial for completing setup steps.
- Reset the Printer: You can perform a reset on your printer to clear any internal errors. Usually, this involves pressing certain buttons or navigating through the printer's menu. Refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to reset it.
- Update Firmware: Sometimes updating the printer's firmware can resolve setup issues. Check if there's a firmware update available for your HP OfficeJet 8010e series printer and install it if possible.
- Remove and Reinstall: If the problem persists, you might need to remove the printer from your computer (if connected via USB or network) or from your network settings and then reinstall it. This can sometimes clear up setup errors.
By going through these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the setup issue with your HP OfficeJet 8010e series printer and continue using it without interruptions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

None of the above suggestions work as the printer will not allow me to access the screen to make a different choice. Screen either says cancelling or it says shutting down but wont do either? I cant access the home screen to reboot the printer. Stuck in an endless loop. Very frustrating and time consuming!
