Hi @Hoodwick,

Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP DeskJet 4200e printer is connected to Wi-Fi but your MacBook Pro is unable to detect it. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
a. Confirm Wi-Fi Connection
Make sure both your MacBook Pro and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
On the printer, print a Wireless Network Test Report to confirm it is connected to the correct network.
b. Restart Devices
Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for 15–20 seconds.
Restart your MacBook Pro.
Power on the printer again and wait for it to fully connect to Wi-Fi.
c. Add Printer via System Settings
On your Mac, go to Apple Menu () > System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
Click the “+” button to add a printer.
Look for your printer in the list. If it shows “AirPrint”, select it and click Add.
d. Check AirPrint Functionality
HP DeskJet 4200e uses AirPrint, so no separate driver installation is required.
Ensure your macOS is up to date to have the latest AirPrint support.
e. Use HP Smart App (Optional)
Download HP Smart from the Mac App Store.
Open the app and try adding the printer. This can help detect printers that do not automatically appear in system settings.
f. Reset Printer Network Settings (if needed)
On the printer, go to Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi and repeat the steps to add it on your Mac.
g. Test Printing
Open the Camera app, Safari, or a document and try printing to confirm the connection is successful.
I hope this helps.
