Product: PageWide Pro MFP 477dw

I have looked everywhere on the forums for a default password for the web interface and cannot find it.  We have successfully reset the printer to factory defaults, but still can't log into the web interface. 

 

What is the default username and password?

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for visiting HP Support Forum,

 

You may want to try reseting your device to factory deafaults . Below are two reset, which you may want to try resetting to check if Printer EWS password clears.

The Default user name will alsways be :  ADMIN
1.  Restore Factory Defaults:Reset printer settings to the factory defaults
2.  Restore Network Settings: Reset settings for your wired or wireless.

 

Once you have reset your printer, you will have to reconfigure all yout custom setting .

I reset my 477dw twice.

I had to set everything up again and again. But that still does not have access via web for the configuration. Also, the old network folders are still present at the scan.

 

So the factory reset does not work properly.

 

I can not log on directly at the device.
Needs a pin. Nothing works.

HP printers don't have default passwords set for the web interface. If yours is asking for one, then someone set it. Sometimes if you go to the Network menu using the control panel, you can force a reset of the security password there that should reset it.

I had probably set a password. I do not know which one anymore.
You really have a solution?

Not sure on this model, but Sometimes if you go to the Network menu using the control panel, you can force a reset of the security password there that should reset it. You will have to look around in some Network sub-menus to find it. Look for a security option. Hopefully it's there.
