My printer is about 2 months old. It keeps delaying in-between pages when printing multiple pages. Help me out, please, thanks.

Hi @Sunnyabsunny

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with printing delays, especially with a relatively new printer. There are a few possible reasons for the delay in printing between pages, ranging from software or connectivity issues to hardware settings. Let’s walk through some troubleshooting steps to help identify and resolve the issue.

1. Check Printer Status and Queue

  • Print Queue: Sometimes, the print queue can get backed up, causing delays between pages. Open the print queue on your computer and make sure there aren’t any stalled jobs. If there are, clear them and try printing again.
    • Windows: Open the Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select See what's printing. Clear any pending jobs.
    • Mac: Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click Open Print Queue. Delete any pending jobs.

2. Check Connection (USB/Wireless)

  • USB Connection: If you're using a USB connection, ensure the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer. If possible, try using a different USB port or cable.
  • Wireless Connection: If you're using a Wi-Fi connection, check your Wi-Fi network’s signal strength and ensure there’s no congestion. Weak signals or network congestion can cause delays. You might want to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network or move it closer to the router.
    • Ensure both your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

3. Check Printer Settings

  • Print Quality Settings: If the printer is set to print in high-quality mode, it may take longer between pages. Try changing the print quality to a lower setting to speed things up.
    • In the Print Settings (on your computer), look for options like Draft or Normal under Quality or Print Mode and select that.
  • Two-Sided (Duplex) Printing: If you’re printing double-sided, this can sometimes cause delays between pages because the printer needs to process both sides. If you don't need duplex printing, try turning it off.
    • In the Print Settings, disable Double-sided printing (or Duplex) to see if it improves speed.

4. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

  • Firmware Updates: Sometimes, printer manufacturers release firmware updates to fix bugs or improve performance. Check the manufacturer's website or use the HP Smart App to make sure your printer is running the latest firmware.
  • Driver Updates: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause performance issues.
    • Go to Device Manager > Printers > Right-click your printer > Update Driver (for Windows).
    • For Mac, ensure that the printer driver is updated via Software Update.

5. Reduce Print Size or Resolution

  • If you are printing large files (e.g., PDFs with high-resolution images or complex formatting), the printer might be taking longer to process the data between pages. Try printing smaller or simpler documents to see if the delay persists.
  • If you're printing high-resolution images or color documents, try printing in black and white or at a lower resolution to speed things up.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your initial assistance. However, the challenge still persist. After printing a page, it will take up to 10 seconds or more to print the next page and after the printing, it will still roll for the same interval before stopping. The whole thing is frustrating! I will appreciate if there's any other way out please, thanks.
