I have a Deskjet 4155 installed on my PC and connected by USB cable.
When I launch HP Smart on the PC it shows only a blank screen -- printer not identified or details provided. I can print to the printer but one strange thing is that when I try to print checks with Quicken the printing is agonizingly slow.-- about 1-1/2 minutes to print a single page of three checks. (When I print a page of checks with my older Deskjet 1110 it takes only a few seconds to print a page of checks.)
Printing from other apps seems reasonably fast.
I suspect that this slow printing is somehow connected to the 4155 printer not being recognized HP Smart problem but I don't know how. I'm hoping that if I can fix the recognition problem then the slow-printing problem may go away.
"HP Deskjet Plus 4152 |4155 |4158 : Download & Install HP Full featured Software on a Win 10 computer" and everything seemed to work properly, but HP Smart still does not recognize the printer.
I can print with it and I can scan with it, and I was able to fix the slow-check-printing problem by changing a setting in Quicken. So performance-wise there doesn't seem to be a problem. The fact that HP Smart doesn't recognize the printer tells me that something still is not right, but I guess I can live with that as long as it performs properly.
