Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I was using a hp 6540 on win 64 xp and it was automaticly printing on both sides but when I switched to win 7 64bit I could not get it to work right now it want's me to take out the paper an turn it around. I have the unit in the back so it should print on 2 sides automatically but under win 7 it is not working. It must be a driver but hp was no help, has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it?

Welcome to HP forums.

Configuring the Windows system to automatically print two-sided documents

There are different methods of enabling two-sided printing accessory:

  1. During printing installation

Two-sided printing is automatically enabled during printer installation if YES is selected when the question Do you have a two-sided printing module? displays during the installation process.

  2. Three-Tab Toolbox
    1. Right-click the Taskbar Printer icon.

    2. Select the Services table.

    3. Click the Service this device button.

    4. Select the Configuration tab.

    5. Click the Automatic Two-Sided Printing Module box.

    6. Click Apply.
