I can't turn off the "Auto Off" feature on my printer. The settings (see attached photo) says that Auto-Off is "automatically disabled when the printer is connected to a computer or mobile device, a network, or a fax line", but that seems to be a lie. The printer is connected both to a Wi-Fi network _and_ a desktop which we never turn off, yet every time we want to use the printer we need to manually turn it back on because it has shut itself off. I'm frankly baffled by how authoritarian this printer is being about what I may and may not control, and am about an hour away from throwing it out, along with the Instant Ink subscription that I've had with it since I bought it.

HP "support", as usual, is utterly useless, so posting here as a last resort. Does anyone know how to actually turn "Auto Off" off?

I cannot speak to your exact unit, but for most HP printers, the ability to disable auto off is no longer available. The reason given for this is to ensure that all devices meet ECO standards such as Blue Angel. It is definitely a problem for people using their device as a stand alone fax. Hopefully someone who has an actual 6000 can confirm or provide a solution.
