Just as the title says. I am trying to set up wifi direct, and my printer is asking me to turn on the wireless radio. I can't print using a wireless connection, so do I need to turn it on in order to use wifi direct?

To establish a wireless or wireless direct connection the wireless must be turned ON.

Hi,

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

 

Generally, for standard wireless operation you may be turned on or off the wireless radio using the wireless key located at the back of your printer, wireless orations or wireless direct operations are not affected by each other, you may have the wireless radio powered on or off, but the key would be enabling Wireless Direct itself for the printer.

 

Please follow below guidelines from its user guide to enable or disable Wireless Direct for your printer, then you may connect to the Wi-Fi Direct network::
