Operating System: Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

This is disgusting.

 

  1. Having purchased a new HP ENVY 7640, and following the instructions, I attempted automatic download of the software.
  2. It stalled at the same point.  Three times.
  3. I then entered this Support site, found an alternate download source.
  4. It stalled at the same point.  Twice.
  5. My ISP is Telstra, the connection is very fast.  I have no problems downloading software from other sites (Apple updates are sometimes 100's of MB).
  6. I searched these pages and found that downloads often fail, and an alternate site is provided.
  7. Please provide.
  8. Please fix your sub-standard download site.  
  9. Or else provide a visible, searchable alternate download site, such that we can find it, and avoid the time it takes to register; post a message; wait for an reply; etc.

Having received no help from the alleged "24/7 Support" from HP (which is a breach of the Trade Practices Act 1974, as Amended), and no reply to this "Support Forum", I figured it out for myself.

I found another HP download site.  Stalled again at the same point [4].
