I have an old HP7720 and have always used compatible ink cartridges didn’t. Suddenly they stopped working even though firmware updates turned off. I tried system changes but EWS Blocked.

How do I remove the continuous ink system,. I don’t believe I have it installed and have never had it. I always use compatible cartridges only recently become a problem,. The hp firmware updates are and always have been switched off.
